Good times are rolling again at UPM Kaipola mill
At UPM's Kaipola mill* in central Finland, the good times are rolling again. A winder that dated back to the 1970s has been replaced by a completely new and significantly faster one, and the successful start-up took place in March 2007. Called URK72, the winder handles damaged paper rolls and rolls in need of rewinding to meet customer needs. To control the winder, UPM chose Vacon's common DC bus units and control application.More
